Global Studies Program (undergraduate): These courses are taught in English. Go to the Primero section to view courses for Fall semester and the Segundo section to view courses for Spring semester.

Global Studies Program (graduate): These courses are taught in English.

PEI Courses (Courses taken with Spanish students - Superior level required)

Internships: Select internships are available in English and/or Spanish. Internships are offered in the areas of Education, ESL, Engineering, Communications, New Media, Computer Science, Medicine, Biology, Physical Therapy, Pharmaceuticals, Dentistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and Agricultural Science. Participants would take classes in addition to taking an internship. Credit to be determined based on placement.

PEI courses are taken with Spanish students in a wide variety of subjects. Due to these courses being taught to native Spanish speakers, it is recommended that students taking PEI courses have a high level of Spanish proficiency. Students can mix their schedules with courses taken at Cursos Internacionales and one or two PEI courses.

Travel Information:

All students are required to take the group flight. Flight details will be announced during the Pre-Departure process.

Students will be able to meet Program Coordinator Sherri Sevde upon arrival in the airport in Madrid. Sherri and the group will take a group motor coach bus to Salamanca. Arriving on a flight separate from the group is not recommended. Students arriving independently will find their own way to Salamanca and go directly to the home of their host family.

Visa Information:

Accepted participants must apply for a Student Visa in order to be permitted to study in Spain. Upon your acceptance, you will be contacted by a SUNY Cortland study abroad advisor with instructions on how to complete the Student Visa application. Permenant residents of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Connecticut may have a SUNY Cortland representative appear on their behalf at the New York Spanish Consulate General. This service is offered to save participants the trouble of booking their own visa appointments and having to travel to New York City. Further, the New York Spanish Consulate General does not prefer to schedule individual student visa appointments.

More details will be released upon acceptance, or contact the International Programs Office. For now, please make sure you have a non-expired official passport at your time of application.

Accommodations:

All participants must live with a host family.

Home stays are arranged by SUNY Cortland's Salamanca Program Coordinator, Sherri Sevde. The Program Fee is based on two people sharing a bedroom, but single bedrooms are available for an addition fee. Three meals per day and limited laundry service are included in the home stay costs.

Meet your Program Coordinator, Sherri Sevde!
