University College Cork (UCC) is located near the town center of Cork, the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland. UCC has been ranked in the Top 50 Universities for Teaching and Learning by the Times High Education Europe Teaching Rankings and is one of four constituent universities of the Federal National University of Ireland. The city of Cork was named "The 2005 European Capital of Culture" and is a vibrant center of activity for students and locals. Students are eased into university and local life with the support of UCC's International Education Office's excellent student services. In the fall, you will enroll in an Early Start Semester option that runs through September, prior to the beginning of the regular semester start. Early Start options include study in Irish history, literature, archeology, folklore & ethnology, music, management & business in the EU, and law.
